The SMME Accelerated Growth Programme supports increased growth in a selection of promising South African businesses, using an integrated programme of business development, market access and mentor support. In addition to the intention for accelerated business success, the programme actively seeks ways to share this benefit with emerging black-owned businesses and local communities through an innovative ‘Pay it Forward’ scheme – providing a social as well as an economic benefit.
Funded by the Embassy of Finland and implemented by specialist Enterprise Development consultants at The Fetola Foundation (formerly Zamori302) the programme has been designed to run over 3 years, and actively seeks ways in which to extend benefit beyond the eleven beneficiaries through knowledge sharing and partnerships.
Eleven beneficiary businesses have been selected for the programme – they were selected for their entrepreneurial drive, quality products, potential to create positive social impact in local communities, and position for growth. Such high profile businesses as Heath Nash and Cabinetworks are members of the programme.
Beneficiaries have been taken through a dynamic programme of business needs assessment, business self-assessment, skills training workshops, one-on-one site visits, mentoring, e-learning resources and market access support.
