• Enterprise Development Grant. Your contribution provides sponsorship of the  longterm Small Business Advancement programme, delivers maximum ED scorecard points – and provides excellent media & PR returns for your company.

• Individual Enterprise Development Grant. Your grant sponsors an individual beneficiary (e.g. a preferred supplier, or Fetola Selected Beneficiary) to attend the workshop for maximum ED points.

• Skills Capacity Building & CSI grants: Sponsor an NGO to attend this business workshop & make a lasting difference plus scorecard points.

Through this collaboration, the Old Mutual Foundation-funded Legends enterprise development programme is leveraging its national network of entrepreneurs, community groups and SMME’s to roll out On the Money financial literacy workshops, also an Old Mutual initiative.

As at the end of March 2012, over 470 people participated in On the Money workshops through this partnership, in 19 sites nationally. Another 13 sites are booked to roll out by the end of April, with a total target of 3000 people set to receive this life-changing financial literacy training by the end of 2012 through the Legends – On the Money collaboration.

The On the Money training programme has been operating since 2005 and helps people with limited financial resources to learn and practice responsible financial behaviour. It is an accessible, practical course that has had a major

impact on the financial habits of thousands of South Africans.

The Old Mutual Legends Programme has been running since 2007 and is an award-winning national enterprise development programme. Designed and implemented by enterprise development specialists Fetola, Legends has a goal to change lives for the better, forever, and currently supports the sustainable growth of over 75 organisations and a total of 2000 individual beneficiaries in all nine provinces.

This year’s Old Mutual Legends Vision Sessions kickstarted in the Eastern Cape, where we visited East London for the very first time. We then went on to Cape Town, Johannesburg and made our final stop in Durban.

From a total of 475 applications, 92 organisations from all nine provinces were invited to participate in this years Vision Sessions, with businesses ranging from a variety of sectors including Construction, Craft, Manufacturing, Tourism, Hospitality, the non-profit sector and much more. Everywhere we went we met incredible and talented people who were eager for more business knowledge .

All four workshops were a great success and we received extremely  positive feedback from all the participants (see below for a selection). We are now in the final stages of selecting our Legends Beneficiaries for 2012 , watch this space!
