Franschhoek Live Craft Centre – Shop Revamp & Training Doubles Turnover
The FLCC, a collective of small-scale craft producers from the Franschhoek region, was given prime retail space by the local municipality in the Franschhoek Main Rd, an area extremely popular with domestic and international tourists. However, in the absence of any formal retail training, merchandising and display knowledge or product development input, they were unable to take full advantage of this wonderful opportunity and for several years sales and morale were very low at the Centre. Heath Nash – Costing & Pricing Revitalises Business
Renowned designer Heath Nash is a member of the SMME Accelerator ETU Programme, funded by the Embassy of Finland and designed and implemented by Fetola.
A primary challenge in Heath’s business was a lack of systems to accurately cost and price his products, leading to a situation where he was unsure whether he was making a profit, and also creating vast inconsistencies in his pricing, which caused unhappiness amongst his client base and a lack of reorders. The Wholesale and Retail SETA craft skills training programme
Designed to improve the success of black-ownership up the value chain by developing craft retail and wholesale skills, the Fetola WRSETA training pilot programme provided 90 owner-managers with applied business skills training. The two module course (Run a Small Business and Sell to Customers in Retail and Wholesale Business) was very well received by over 90 learners from four provinces. Read more.
